Get to Know Us

It all began in the early 1970s at Bob's Taproom near Baptist Hospital, under the Hawthorne Curve in Winston-Salem. A group of friends, led by Dan Linville and "Big" Jim Morris (RIP), decided that Winston-Salem needed a rugby club....

Wake Forest Rugby taught me more than just the game—it instilled in me the values of teamwork, peer leadership, and camaraderie that have defined my career in the US Navy. As a Commander today, I still draw on the lessons I learned on the field, proving that the bonds and discipline of rugby last a lifetime.
